In the spirit of street and freestyle soccer, Sydney Street are throwing a 2v2 street football tournament at The Soccer Club. The event will be held on Friday the 4th of August between 7 -10 pm at the Club.

Yes, your voices have been heard and we are taking action !! After the success of our one day tournaments and the ongoing request for weeknight leagues. We are officially kicking off the 3's league on Monday the 31st of July 2017. Each team can register up to 5 players, and as part of participating in the league you get to play FREE casual games on Monday nights before or following your game and in addition there are a whole heap of prizes and entry is free for members.

What a weekend! Gelato Messina held their yearly Gelato Messina Cup at The Soccer Club on Saturday the 1st of July. Teams representing different stores throughout Sydney, had a great time bonding with their team members and other stores members on and off the field whilst having fun, friendly and slightly competitive 3 a side indoor soccer games.

Teams from head office to Surry Hills, Parramatta, Glebe, Circular Quay and Newtown just to mention a few battled it out to the play offs with head office ultimately taking out first place. It wasn't just all about soccer on the day, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, DJ and Music and not to say the least the BBQ after the tournament.

Sydney Street crew residents of The Soccer Club participated in the one night Adidas tango league held on Saturday the 18th of March 2017 at Sydney's famous carriage works. 8 teams with 5 players on the field showed off there impressive footwork, team spirit and love of the game. Sydney street successfully knocked their way into the semi finals and went head to head with the impressive opposing team, pushing the boundaries and the limits. Unfortunately a last minute score pushed them behind securing second place. On the bright side all players were given the latest Adidas gear including indoor boots, tee's and shorts. Sydney street now back and training at The Soccer Club ready for their next challenge.

Starting with the MercurialX Proximo, its lightweight qualities makes this indoor soccer shoe popular amongst all players. With an all-round bright orange colour it’s surely going to be popular and a stand out amongst all other futsal indoor shoes.

The next indoor soccer shoe that Nike will also add to its list of highlighter bright colours is the Nike Hyperfine. This all-time favourite indoor soccer shoe has been around for a few years with different variations hitting Nike’s indoor soccer shoe portfolio. Originally appearing a few years ago it has made its marks within the indoor soccer game with many players voting it as not only aesthetically pleasing but a good all-rounder for the small sided indoor soccer futsal game. As with the colour, Nike has chosen red which some say is rather borderline pink. Regardless to say once it starts glowing the signature hypervenom will display and will surely be a favourite to all indoor soccer players.

TiempoX made from Kangaroo leather is one of the newer additions to Nike’s indoor soccer shoe family. Having a bit more of a chunkier look and feel than others, it does however come with a more neutral glow colour of Blue.

Last of the four is the MagistaX. This indoor soccer shoe known to Nike Futsal fans as the one that ticks all the boxes from its looks, feel and comfort. This is surely the favourite for all indoor soccer fans making this the chosen one for all futsal players except maybe the price tag.

Everyone that has played indoor soccer knows how important it is to have a good pair of indoor soccer shoes. Those that play indoor soccer regularly know the fast paced, high intensity game not only requires skill but a good pair of indoor soccer shoes too.

There are many futsal shoe brands out in the market today, some well-known and some mentioning no names are anything but decent.

If you’re playing on either synthetic turf or a hard floor, grip is an essential element when it comes to choosing the right indoor soccer shoes. Being able to make quick turns, touches, strikes, and show off that foot work not only requires skill but a good pair of indoor soccer shoes.

I our quest for the perfect footwear we took a closer look the Nike Hypervenom indoor soccer shoes.

Nike launched the Hypervenom indoor soccer shoes back in 2013 and they have now become an all-time favourite for many futsal players. The shoe is aesthetically pleasing and focuses on assisting the player’s agility.

Given the success of the initial launch Nike has since launched several other variations for the indoor soccer market. After trialling the shoe on synthetic turf and hard surfaces we found that it lives up to our standards. We would highly recommend this product to all members of The Soccer Club in Alexandria and the greater futsal community in Sydney.

Iran declared third place in the FIFA Futsal World Cup Colombia 2016 after a 2-2 draw with Portugal leading to a penalty shootout resulting in 4-3 in Cali Columbia. The much loved game of indoor soccer required a total of six rounds of penalty shoot outs to determine third place in the 2016 indoor soccer futsal championships.

An exciting matched played between Argentina and Russia for the world futsal championship 2016 in Cali Columbia. The close match resulted in a 5-4 defeat with Argentina taking out the first spot in the fast paced exciting game. Russia having had a good history in previous futsal world cups making it to the semi-finals during the 1996, 2000 and 2008 championships were just short of receiving the top spot. Argentina on the other hand were first timers entering the finals of the futsal championship.

Australian futsal referee Chris Colley has officially been chosen as the second referee for the third and fourth place playoffs in the futsal world cup 2016 held in Columbia.

Chris a well-regarded and experienced indoor soccer referee based out of Western Australia has been chosen as the second referee. Chris has been involved in the indoor soccer industry for quite some time and officially started referring in indoor soccer since 1990. Furthermore, his contribution to the much loved futsal world has awarded him the Most Outstanding AFC Futsal Referee in 2014.

Spain and Italy are out, Russia and Portugal fight on in the small sided beautiful game or as most of us call it indoor soccer and futsal.

Have you guys heard the latest news within the indoor soccer futsal field? All sorts of news coming this way, Russia and Portugal are through to the FIFA Futsal World Cup semi-finals. The other strong futsal contenders of ltaly, Brazil and Spain have been knocked out of the small sided beautiful game.

Portugal eased its way to a 5-1 win over Uzbekistan in its final round-robin match at the Futsal World Cup, taking out the top spot in Group A. Group B was also filled with action, Thailand squeezed past Egypt 2-1and Russia routed Cuba 7-1 in. resulting in both Russia and Thailand proceeding to the knockout phase of Group B.

Exciting times in the fast paced game of small sided beautiful indoor soccer futsal.
